After Desire Has Conceived, It Gives Birth to Sin
James 1:14–15

James 1:14–15 But each one is tempted when by their own evil desires they are lured away and enticed. 15 Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
This passage teaches the progression of sin. Sin begins in the human heart as sinful desire. The desire itself is not yet sin, but when it is embraced and allowed to take hold, it conceives and gives birth to sin. Sin, when it is fully grown, leads to death, which is spiritual separation from God.
Be continually aware of your desires. Ask yourself whether a desire is drawing you toward God or away from Him. Make that discernment quickly, and choose to turn to God in faith, asking Him for strength to resist.
When a sinful desire is not resisted, it grows and eventually results in sin. Address it early. Do not entertain it or take the next step. Cut off what fuels it. Turn immediately to Christ, agreeing with His Word about where that desire leads. As you do, He provides the strength to resist. ~ Jeff M Newman
