Against You, You Only, Have I Sinned

Psalm 51:4 Against You, You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You may be proved right when You speak and blameless when You judge.
This was written by David after he had sinned by sleeping with Bathsheba and arranging the death of her husband Uriah. He was confronted by the prophet Nathan about his sin. This confrontation led to David’s confession in this verse.
David recognized the true nature of sin and that it is ultimately an offense against God. He acknowledged that he had broken God’s law. Scripture teaches that all sin is lawlessness, a violation of God’s law (1 John 3:4).
David confessed his sin and acknowledged God’s authority and righteousness. He admitted that God would be just in His judgment.
The right response to sin is to recognize it, confess it to God, and by faith turn back to Him. When you sin, confess it immediately and ask God for the strength to walk in obedience. ~ Jeff M Newman

Learn the lesson of the fig tree. Recognize the signs of His second coming and be ready.
Matthew 24:32-35 Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its branches become tender and sprout leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So also, when you see all these things, you will know that He is near, right at the door. 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. (Luke 21:29-33)
