Be an Example

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no one despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

We are called to be an example in five key areas, to other believers. This means to serve as a model for others to follow. Our ultimate example if Christ. We are to reflect Christ in everything we do.

1. In speech. We are called to let every word that proceeds out of our mouth be to edify others. (Ephesians 4:29).

2. In conduct. We are called to glorify God in everything we do. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

3. In love. We are called to love others as Christ has loved us. (John 13:34)

4. In faith. We are called to walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

5. In purity. We are called to pursue purity in all we do. (2 Timothy 2:22)

Take time to look up these verses and meditate on them. Ask God to give you the strength, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to be an example of Christ to others. ~ Jeff M Newman
