Be Holy, Because I Am Holy

1 Peter 1:15-16 But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
The word “holy” means to be set apart. God is holy, meaning that He is perfectly pure, righteous, and completely separated from sin. As believers, we are called to reflect His holiness in the way we live.
This does not mean that Christians become perfectly sinless in this life. Believers still struggle with temptation and the flesh. However, as you abide in Jesus Christ and seek to pursue purity, obedience, and separation from sinful living, God continues to grow you in holiness.
You need the Holy Spirit to transform your heart and give you the strength to obey God. Yield yourself daily to the work of the Holy Spirit and allow Him to shape your thoughts, desires, and actions.
When you struggle with sin, come to God in repentance and depend completely on Him to help you walk faithfully with Him. God is patient, gracious, and faithful to continue His work of transformation in your life. ~ Jeff M Newman

Observe Jesus’ Commands
Ask in Jesus’ name.
John 14:13-14 And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me or anything in My name, I will do it.
John 16:23-24 In that day you will no longer ask Me anything. Truly, truly, I tell you, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in My name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.

Amen. This is such an important reminder in a generation that often wants grace without holiness or salvation without surrender. God’s call to holiness is not about cold legalism, but about being set apart for Him and transformed into the likeness of Christ. Be ye holy; for I am holy 1 Peter 1:16. True holiness is not merely outward behavior, but a heart that desires to please God, walk in obedience, and grow in purity through the power of the Holy Spirit. I also appreciate how messages like this remind believers that holiness is not something we achieve by our own strength alone. It is the work of God within us as we abide in Christ daily, renew our minds through His Word, and yield ourselves to the Spirit. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure Philippians 2:13. The closer we walk with Jesus, the more we begin to hate sin and love righteousness because His Spirit changes our desires from the inside out. At the same time, holiness should always be joined together with humility, grace, truth, and love. God does not call believers to self-righteousness, but to Christlikeness. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord Hebrews 12:14. Thank you for sharing this encouraging message. It is a much-needed reminder that believers are called not merely to profess Christ with words, but to reflect His character through transformed lives that honor Him daily.
