Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:31-32)
Take a moment to honestly examine your life. Are you holding on to bitterness? Do you lash out in anger? Do you speak poorly of others or wish harm on them? God calls you to get rid of these things. Picture them as physical items that need to be thrown into the trash and removed from your life. If it helps, write them down, crumple up the paper, and throw it away as a symbol of letting go. Then replace these attitudes with kindness and a tender heart toward others. How do you do this? By remembering how Christ forgave you. Jesus went to the cross to pay for your bitterness, anger, slander, and every sinful thought or action. Because He forgave you, you can forgive and love others. ~ Jeff M Newman
