2 Timothy 2:24 And a servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome, but must kind to everyone, able to teach, and forbearing.
Apostle Paul is instructing Timothy on how to conduct himself when dealing with others. He says that the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome or constantly fighting and arguing with people. Believers are called to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word, but they are to do it in a way that reflects the character of Jesus Christ.
Christians are called to be kind to everyone rather than treating people with hostility, pride, or anger. They are also to be able to teach God’s truth patiently and with gentleness. It is easy to become frustrated or worked up when people disagree with you, but God calls believers to respond differently.
Look at how Jesus behaved when He suffered, was mocked, beaten, and went to the cross. Even in suffering, He responded with humility, truth, patience, and love.
Ask God to give you the strength to reflect Christ when you are sharing your faith, teaching others, or dealing with difficult people. Depend on the Holy Spirit to help you speak truth with grace and love. ~ Jeff M Newman
