Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen, and so that they do not slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and grandchildren. (Deuteronomy 4:9)
In this verse, Moses is speaking to the Israelites to help prepare them to enter the Promised Land. He urges them to be continually on guard and to diligently watch themselves so that they don’t forget what God has done. This message is for you, too. Remember what God has done in your life. You were once lost, but now you are found because of the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). Share what God has done in your life with future generations. Teach them about Jesus and how to have a relationship with Him through faith. Teach them to observe the things that Jesus has commanded us (Matthew 28:18-20).~ Jeff M Newman
