Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)
This verse is a great reminder that there is an enemy who wants to devour you. One of the best ways to protect yourself is to be around other Christians who love Jesus. The enemy is looking for people who are wandering away from the fellowship of believers. Lions target animals wandering around away from the herd, so they can attack. The devil wants you to sin so that you feel ashamed and leave the protection of others. However, God wants you to live in the light. Confess your sins to believers you trust, and break free from the condemnation of the enemy. Be alert to his evil schemes. ~ Jeff M Newman
