Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will be with child and give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14)
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged in marriage to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 1:18)
Isaiah 7:14 was written in the eighth century BC, before the fall of the Northern Kingdom of Israel in 722 BC. This places the prophecy more than 700 years before the birth of Jesus. It was a promise given long in advance, pointing to God entering human history in a miraculous and personal way.
We see the fulfillment of this promise in Matthew 1:18. The birth of Jesus came about when Mary was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. This was not by human design, but by divine purpose. God Himself was at work, bringing about the salvation He had planned from the beginning. Jesus is fully God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and fully man, born of a woman.
He became a man so that He could redeem us and restore our relationship with God. He shared in our humanity in order to save us, to draw near to us, and to make us like Him. At Christmas, we are reminded that God did not remain distant, but came to dwell among us.
Through the virgin birth, we see both the power and the kindness of God. Nothing is too hard for Him. In Jesus, God is with us. Through His birth, and ultimately through His life, death, and resurrection, we can be reconciled to God. What greater gift could we receive than the gift of Christ Himself? ~ Jeff M Newman

Observe Jesus’ Commands
Don’t cause the little ones who believe in Jesus to stumble. Examine your actions and avoid behaviors or attitudes that could hinder the spiritual journey of another.
Matthew 18:6 But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. (Mark 9:42, Luke 17:2)
