Blessed Are the Peacemakers

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. (Matthew 5:9)
When you are born again, because you have placed your faith in Christ, you become a child of God. As a child of God, His Spirit begins to shape your character so that you reflect His nature. One aspect of God’s nature is peacemaking. God took the initiative to reconcile sinful humanity to Himself through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.
Because you belong to Him, He calls you to imitate His heart for peace. When you face conflict or tension with others, ask God to help you reflect His peacemaking nature. Pray for the strength, humility, and wisdom to seek reconciliation rather than reacting in anger or escalating the situation. As He works in you, He empowers you to pursue peace the way He pursued peace with you.~ Jeff M Newman

Be prepared for persecution and hate.
John 15:18-25 If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first. 19 If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. 20 Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well. 21 But they will treat you like this because of My name, since they do not know the One who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates Me hates My Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated Me without reason.’ (John 15:20-25)

Yesterday’s Devotional
This is a beautiful teaching my brother. Matthew 5 : 9 reminds us that blessed are the peacemakers because they will be called the children of God. When we are born again and Christ comes into our life, He not only forgives us but also begins shaping our character to reflect His nature. Romans 5 : 1 says that we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, and because He made peace with us, He calls us to show that same peace to others. Romans 12 : 18 tells us that if it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. It’s not always easy, but Jesus gives us His own peace to help us, just like He said in John 14 : 27, My peace I give you, not as the world gives. The reminder about persecution is also true. Jesus said in John 15 : 18 that if the world hates you, remember it hated Him first. So even when people misunderstand us, God is with us. May He help us to live as true peacemakers every day, the same way He made peace with us through the cross.
