For the Trumpet Will Sound, the Dead Will Be Raised Imperishable, and We Will Be Changed

1 Corinthians 15:52 in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

In context, Paul is explaining that because Jesus Christ rose from the dead, everyone who belongs to Him will also be raised. This includes believers who have already died and are now with Christ, as well as those who are alive when He returns.

When Christ comes, the dead in Christ will be raised with glorified bodies, and believers who are alive will be instantly transformed “in the twinkling of an eye.” At that moment, every believer will receive a glorified body that is free from sin, sickness, suffering, and death.

This verse beautifully illustrates God’s complete work of salvation. The moment you put your faith in Jesus Christ, you are justified, declared righteous before God. Throughout your life, God is sanctifying you, setting you apart for His purposes and transforming you into the likeness of Christ. Then, when Jesus returns, you will be glorified. God’s work in you will be complete, and you will be made perfectly like Christ.

This moment could happen at any time. Live each day in light of Christ’s return. Pursue holiness, faithfully share the gospel, and encourage others with the hope of His coming. No matter what you face today, remember that a glorious future awaits you. One day, you will receive a glorified body and live in the presence of the Lord forever.~ Jeff M Newman
