He Is a Liar and the Father of Lies
John 8:44

John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
Jesus teaches that there are ultimately two spiritual families, those who belong to God and those who remain under the power of the devil. In this passage, Jesus is speaking to people who claimed to know God, yet their actions showed that they were rejecting the truth and opposing Him. Their lives reflected the desires of the devil rather than the character of God.
The devil is completely opposed to God. Jesus describes him as a murderer and the father of lies. Satan works through deception, lies, temptation, and rebellion against God’s truth. As Jesus says in John 10:10, the thief comes “to steal and kill and destroy.”
The good news is that Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the devil and set people free from the bondage of sin and darkness. Christians still struggle with temptation, spiritual warfare, and deception, but believers are no longer slaves to Satan’s dominion because the Holy Spirit lives within them.
Ask God to help you walk in His truth and guard you from deception. Spend time studying God’s Word today and let His truth shape your mind and heart. As you abide in Christ, He will help you discern lies, walk in the light, and experience the abundant life He gives.

This was a strong and needed reminder about the enemy’s greatest weapon deception. Jesus clearly said in John 8:44 that Satan is a liar and the father of lies and we can see every day how truth is being twisted in this world. That is why it is so important for believers to stay rooted in God’s Word and led by the Holy Spirit. The enemy may bring confusion fear and temptation but God’s truth always brings light freedom and discernment. John 17:17 says Sanctify them through thy truth thy word is truth. I appreciate how this message points people back to Christ and reminds us to test everything according to Scripture. We must be careful not to believe every voice or every feeling but stand firm on the truth of God’s Word. Ephesians 6:11 says Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
In these days especially many are being deceived by false teachings worldly wisdom and doctrines that sound good but are not rooted in the truth of Christ. That is why discernment is so important for every believer. First Peter 5:8 reminds us to be sober and vigilant because our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. But praise God that Jesus has already overcome the enemy and His truth sets us free. John 8:32 says And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Messages like this are needed because they encourage believers to stay awake spiritually and remain faithful to God’s Word no matter how much darkness increases around us. Thank you again for sharing this timely and biblically grounded message. May the Lord continue to strengthen His people to walk in truth wisdom humility and discernment in these last days.
