…so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. (John 5:23)
In context, Jesus is addressing the Jewish leaders after healing a man on the Sabbath. The Jewish leaders were angered with Jesus because He called God His Father. By doing so, He was making Himself equal with God (John 5:18).
Jesus is making it clear that He is not just another religious figure but God Himself. In John 10:30, Jesus declares, “I and the Father are one.” If you do not honor Jesus as God, then you are not truly honoring the Father.
This verse challenges us to examine our view of Jesus. Honoring Him is not optional—it is essential to a right relationship with God. To reject Jesus is to reject the very One who sent Him. ~ Jeff M Newman

I and the Father Are One
My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” (John 10:27-30)
