Hope Does Not Disappoint Us
Romans 5:3-5

Romans 5:3-5 Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.
God is gracious. Even in seasons of suffering, He is actively at work in the life of the believer. God uses suffering to produce perseverance, perseverance to shape proven character, and character to deepen our hope.
As we studied in Lesson 79, our hope is not in circumstances, but in Him. We can have this hope with confidence because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given to us. This assurance of His love is a gracious gift, not something we earn.
Take a moment to reflect on how God may be using your present trials to grow you spiritually. Thank Him for His faithful work in your life, even when the process is difficult. ~ Jeff M Newman
