Hosanna in the Highest!
Matthew 21:9

Matthew 21:9 The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed were shouting: “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!”
The word “Hosanna” means “save now.” The crowds were crying out for deliverance. As Jesus entered Jerusalem, they recognized Him as the promised Messiah, the Son of David, and they were hoping He would deliver them from Roman oppression.
But Jesus came for a greater purpose. He came to deliver people from their sins. While the crowds spoke truth about who He was, they had an incomplete understanding of His mission.
When Jesus didn’t immediately bring the kind of deliverance they expected and instead went to the cross, the cries of “Hosanna” were soon replaced with cries of “Crucify Him.”
It’s easy to see this in the crowd, but it’s harder to see it in ourselves.
When Jesus doesn’t immediately deliver you from the struggles you’re facing, how do you respond? Do you continue to trust Him, or do you begin to turn away?
Take time to understand Jesus’ true mission. He came to save you from your sins, to give you eternal life, and to restore your relationship with God. That is your greatest need.
So even when you are not delivered from your immediate problems, keep your focus on your true Deliverer. Trust that He is still at work. ~ Jeff M Newman
