John 20:21 Again Jesus said to them, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so also I am sending you.”
This is Jesus speaking to His disciples right after His resurrection. He tells them that He is sending them into the world in the same way the Father sent Him. Jesus came to reveal the Father, proclaim the truth, and bring salvation to sinners. In a similar way, believers are called to represent Christ and help others come to know Him.
We can only accomplish this through God’s power and not our own strength. Jesus first greeted His disciples with peace and then sent them out. As Christians, we have peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ, and we are called to share that message of peace with others.
Ask God to give you opportunities to share the gospel with those around you. Let others know that through Jesus Christ they can be forgiven of their sins, reconciled to God, and experience true peace with Him. ~ Jeff M Newman
