I Have Told You These Things So That You Will Not Fall Away
John 16:1-3

“I have told you these things so that you will not fall away. They will put you out of the synagogues. In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. They will do these things because they have not known the Father or Me. (John 16:1-3)
In context, Jesus is speaking to His disciples during the Last Supper. This teaching is known as the Farewell Discourse. The disciples are about to experience a time of intense confusion, fear, and persecution. Jesus does not want their faith to collapse when suffering comes, so He is preparing them in advance.
In the same way, Jesus is letting you know that there will be people who misunderstand and reject you because of your faith. He is making it clear that following Him is not an easy path. People act this way because they do not truly know the Father or Jesus.
