If Anyone Confesses That Jesus Is the Son of God, God Abides in Him, and He in God

1 John 4:13 By this we know that we remain in Him, and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
There are several ways we can know that we are abiding in God and that God is abiding in us. First, we know because God has given us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us understand God’s truth, convicts us of sin, and empowers us to follow Christ.
Second, if you have confessed that Jesus is the Son of God and trusted Him as the Savior of the world, you can know that God abides in you. Genuine faith in Christ is evidence of a relationship with God.
Finally, as you abide in God, you will come to know and believe the love that He has for you. As your relationship with Him grows, you will also grow in love for God and for others. This love is evidence of God’s work in your life.
