If Anyone Is Thirsty, Let Him Come to Me and Drink
John 7:37-39
(Berean Standard Bible)
John 7:37-39 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
In context, Jesus was speaking during the Feast of Tabernacles. During this Jewish festival, there was a water-pouring ceremony in which people expressed gratitude to God for the rains and made a plea for abundant rain in the coming year.
This ritual also looked forward to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 12:3; Joel 2:28-29). In this passage, Jesus declares that He is the fulfillment of these prophecies.
To those who believe in Him, He promises that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will satisfy the believer’s deepest needs and flow out to others, bringing life to them as well.
Ask God to fill you to overflowing with the Holy Spirit today. Pray that He would work through you to be a blessing to those around you.~ Jeff M Newman

Observe Jesus’ Commands
Don’t cause the little ones who believe in Jesus to stumble. Examine your actions and avoid behaviors or attitudes that could hinder the spiritual journey of another.
Matthew 18:6 But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. (Mark 9:42, Luke 17:2)
