Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. (Ephesians 4:29)
As you grow closer to the Lord, the words that come out of your mouth will change. Think about what happens when you spend time reading the Word. The Word of God will build you up and help you grow. This is what you want the words that you use, to do to others. Edification means to fortify and build up. Are your words building up others? Are they gracious? Or, do you use language that tears people down? Ask God to help you speak words of edification and grace.
