Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted. (Hebrews 2:18)
If you are struggling with temptation, look to Jesus. He understands temptation. In Luke 4, you can learn how Jesus was tempted by the devil when He was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. Jesus used Scripture to fight back.
In Ephesians 6, we are instructed to put on the armor of God and use the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, to battle. Jesus is the Word of God. By using God’s Word in your fight, you are allowing Jesus to help you overcome.
Memorize verses that you can use to resist temptation. When temptation arises, speak those verses out loud repeatedly.~ Jeff M Newman
