For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all—the testimony that was given at just the right time. (1 Timothy 2:5-6)
Jesus is our mediator between us and God. A mediator is someone who stands between two parties and reconciles them. We need a mediator between us and God because God is holy and perfect. We are separated from God because of our sin, which means we have broken God's commands. The penalty for sin is death. However, Jesus gave Himself as a ransom to pay for our sins. Through this ransom, we can be reconciled with God. It's important to note that forgiveness is not automatic. You must believe in the sacrifice Jesus made for you.~ Jeff M Newman
