Let Us Throw Off Every Encumbrance and the Sin That So Easily Entangles

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us.
When you put your faith in Christ, you are called to run the race with endurance until it is finished. The race is a metaphor for the Christian life of trusting and following Jesus until you see Him face to face. That is the finish line. In your life, there will be things that hinder your faith and obedience. Get rid of the behaviors, habits, and distractions that make it hard to run. Throw them off. ~ Jeff M Newman
