Look, the Lamb of God, Who Takes Away the Sin of the World!
John 1:29

John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
In context, John was baptizing people in the Jordan River. This was a baptism of repentance, preparing the people in anticipation and readiness for the coming Messiah.
One day, John saw Jesus coming toward him. When he saw Him, he proclaimed, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.”
The only way Jesus could take away the sin of the world is because He Himself is without sin. A blemished lamb could not atone for others.
Jesus is pure. Because He is sinless, He alone is qualified to bear the sin of the world. Be encouraged by this truth today. ~ Jeff M Newman
