My House Will Be Called a House of Prayer
Matthew 21:13

Matthew 21:13 And He declared to them, “It is written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer.’ But you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”
Just after Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem during Holy Week, He went straight to the temple. There, He began confronting the corrupted worship taking place.
The temple courts had become filled with money changers and merchants selling animals for sacrifice, and they were taking advantage of worshipers. Instead of being a place devoted to prayer, the temple had become a place of profit.
The mission of God was being hindered by those who were exploiting access to Him. In doing this, Jesus exposed the hearts of the religious leaders and their misuse of God’s house.
In your own life, is there anything preventing you from drawing near to God? Just as Jesus cleared out the money changers, take time to remove anything that distracts or interferes, so you can truly connect with Him. ~ Jeff M Newman
