For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so My word that proceeds from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it. (Isaiah 55:10-11)
In context, this was written to the Israelites during the Babylonian exile. This passage offers hope and encouragement. God explains that just as rain and snow water the earth and cause plants to grow and provide food to eat, His word will not return empty, but will fulfill His will.
This is a promise from God. Spend your time filling your life with God’s word. Read the Bible every day. Meditate on the word. Pray through it. Find a verse that speaks to you and memorize it. Share the verse with others. Be assured that these disciplines will cause you to grow spiritually, just as the water helps plants grow. ~ Jeff M Newman

Jesus Is The Atoning Sacrifice
