Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray at all times and not lose heart: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected men. And there was a widow in that town who kept appealing to him, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a while he refused, but later he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect men, yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice. Then she will stop wearing me out with her perpetual requests. (Luke 18:1-5)
Jesus encourages us to continue to pray even when life is difficult. God is listening.
He shares the parable of a widow that does not give up in hear appeal to a judge for justice against her adversary. She wore the judge out with her perpetual requests.
Pray to God like this widow that kept pestering the judge for justice.
Write out your prayer requests and pray for them continually. There is power in persistent prayer and having the faith that God will answer in due time. ~ Jeff M Newman
