Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober-minded. Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not conform to the passions of your former ignorance. (1 Peter 1:13-14)
Before you followed Jesus, you lived your life in a certain way. During that time, you were ignorant of God's commands. However, when you gave your life to God, you were born again and became a child of God.
As you seek God, your desire will be to do His will and no longer live according to your previous ways. Yet, because we still have a sin nature, there can be a tendency to turn back to our former ignorant and sinful ways.
These verses serve as an encouragement for you to remain obedient and be sober-minded. Even if you're facing challenges today, remember to turn to God and faithfully obey His ways. Take time today to seek God, study the Bible, and spend time in prayer. ~ Jeff M Newman
