2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

In context, Paul is teaching the Corinthians about generous giving. After describing their generosity toward other believers, he turns their attention to the far greater gift God has given them which is Jesus Christ and the salvation we have through Him.

Think about everything God has given you through Christ. He has forgiven your sins, reconciled you to Himself, given you the Holy Spirit, given you His Word, brought you into fellowship with other believers, given you access to Him through prayer, given you new life, and promised you eternal life and His presence forever. These are gifts we could never earn.

To understand God’s generosity, look to Jesus. He humbled Himself, came to earth, and gave His life on the cross so that we could be reconciled to God. His sacrifice is the greatest expression of God’s love and generosity toward us.

Spend time each day thanking God for what He has given you through Christ. Let gratitude shape the way you live. Because God has been so generous toward you, be generous with your time, abilities and resources toward Him and others. You may never be able to fully describe or even understand the extent of God’s gift, but you can spend your life responding to it with gratitude. ~ Jeff M Newman
