The God Who Made the World and Everything in It Is the Lord of Heaven and Earth

Acts 17:24-25 The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by human hands. 25 Nor is He served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.
In context, Paul was preaching to the people of Athens, a city filled with idols and temples dedicated to false gods. The Athenians believed their gods needed them to build temples, offer sacrifices, and care for them.
Paul declared that the one true God does not live in temples made by human hands, nor does He need anything from us. Instead, He is the Creator of everything and the One who gives life to all.
God is completely self-sufficient. He does not need us in order to exist or be sustained. He possesses life in Himself. He has no beginning and no end. He is the eternal, self-existent God.
Yet, because of His grace, He sustains us. We depend on Him for every breath we take and every beat of our heart. Worship God with humility, knowing that He needs nothing from you, yet He lovingly cares for you and provides for your every need.
Praise Him because He desires to have a relationship with you through Jesus Christ. Jesus came into the world to redeem us from our sins so that we could be forgiven, reconciled to God, and enjoy fellowship with Him forever. ~ Jeff M Newman
