The Likeness of the Heavenly Man

1 Corinthians 15:49 And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly man.

When we were born, we bore the likeness of the earthly man, Adam. This means we share in Adam’s fallen nature. We experience corruption, temptation, and death. This is our present condition in this life.

But because of Jesus, the heavenly man, all who put their faith in Him have a sure hope. One day we will bear His likeness fully. We will be raised with resurrected bodies, made perfect in holiness, and enjoy unhindered fellowship with God.

If you are struggling today, remember this is not your final state. God is at work in you, and He will complete His work by conforming you to the likeness of Christ. ~ Jeff M Newman
