The Son is the image of the invisible God… (Colossians 1:15)
This verse shows us that God is invisible. In John 1:18, we read that no one has seen God, but the Son has made Him known. God is spirit (John 4:24), and Jesus, the Son of God, is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). He is the exact imprint of God’s nature (Hebrews 1:3).
Jesus reveals the character of God—His love, mercy, holiness, justice, and truth. Through His life, we see God’s compassion for sinners, His righteousness in judgment, His patience, and His grace.
If you want to know God, look to Jesus. The more you behold Jesus, the more you will be transformed into His image and reflect God's character (2 Corinthians 3:18). ~ Jeff M Newman
