I will rejoice greatly in the LORD, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with garments of salvation and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom wears a priestly headdress, as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. (Isaiah 61:10)
In Isaiah 61, the prophet looks forward to the coming Messiah, who would bring good news, healing, and freedom to God’s people. This verse is a joyful response to all that God has promised through Him. When you put your faith in God, He removes the filthy garments of sin and clothes you in the robe of His righteousness. This is a work of His grace, not our own effort. Let this truth fill your heart with joy and thankfulness. ~ Jeff M Newman
