You Are the Potter
Isaiah 64:8

But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand. (Isaiah 64:8)
In context, Israel is in deep spiritual trouble. They are facing the consequences of their long-standing rebellion, leading toward the Babylonian exile. In the middle of this national brokenness, Isaiah appeals to God as their Father. He declares that God is the potter and they are the clay, fully dependent on Him to shape, correct, and restore them.
We can find ourselves in a similar place. You may come to recognize that you are spiritually lost, and then you hear the message of Jesus. When you believe in Christ, you are born again and brought into the family of God. And just as the potter reshapes clay, when you turn to God and look to Him, He forms you into the image of Christ and restores what is broken. ~ Jeff M Newman
