You Are the Potter
Isaiah 64:8

But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand. (Isaiah 64:8)
In context, Israel is in deep spiritual trouble. They are facing the consequences of their long-standing rebellion, leading toward the Babylonian exile. In the middle of this national brokenness, Isaiah appeals to God as their Father. He declares that God is the potter and they are the clay, fully dependent on Him to shape, correct, and restore them.
We can find ourselves in a similar place. You may come to recognize that you are spiritually lost, and then you hear the message of Jesus. When you believe in Christ, you are born again and brought into the family of God. And just as the potter reshapes clay, when you turn to God and look to Him, He forms you into the image of Christ and restores what is broken. ~ Jeff M Newman

Yesterday’s Devotional
I Have Loved You With an Everlasting Love
(Photo by Leon Ephraïm on Unsplash. Berean Standard Bible.)

Brother, thank you again for sharing this beautiful devotional because every time I read Isaiah 64:8 I am reminded that God is not just forming us, He is patiently restoring every place where life, sin, or sorrow has pressed us down. The thought that the Almighty God places His hands on our lives like a potter shaping clay is so comforting, especially on days when we feel unfinished or fragile The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18), and that verse fits perfectly with the message of the Potter who never abandons His clay Even when Israel failed again and again, God still called Himself their Father, and that same mercy reaches us today through Christ. When we stumble, He doesn’t discard us; instead, He reshapes us with grace, just as Jeremiah 18:4 says the potter reworked the clay into another vessel as it seemed good to him. That’s what the Lord does for us He takes what’s cracked and makes it whole. And the more we yield to Him, the more clearly His fingerprints appear in our lives. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). This devotional reminded me that spiritual growth doesn’t come from striving but from surrendering, trusting that the Potter knows exactly what He is crafting. Thank you for posting this today, brother, it strengthened my heart and stirred my faith again. God bless you richly.
