Proverbs 11:25 A generous soul will prosper, and one who refreshes others will be refreshed.
This verse is promising prosperity for those who are generous. But this doesn’t necessarily mean financial wealth. This could be a deep sense of fulfillment and joy.
We have to remember that our ultimate prosperity is not always found in this present world. Sometimes the full refreshment comes later, in eternity, where treasures never fade and rewards are secure. When you give your time, talents, and finances to others in the name of the LORD, you are storing up eternal treasure and growing more like Christ.
Jesus is our greatest example of generosity. He did not come to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). He gave Himself completely for us. Look to Jesus to learn what true generosity really looks like.
Ask God to search your heart. Are you holding onto your own resources rather than having a generous heart for others? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you become someone who gives freely, helps others, and continually looks for people to bless. You will find that God will bring you refreshment in this life. But even when you do not see immediate results, trust that He will prosper you and refresh you fully in His eternal kingdom. ~ Jeff M Newman
