Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. By this the children of God are distinguished from the children of the devil: Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is anyone who does not love their brother or sister. (1 John 3:9-10)
When you are born of God, His nature begins to show in your life. You start to reflect His righteousness and love in the way you live. This verse doesn’t mean that you will never sin. It’s talking about people who make sin a regular pattern or way of life.
As a child of God, sin will no longer feel right or natural to you. The Holy Spirit within you will stir your heart to turn away from it and to live in a way that honors God. You will find yourself growing in a desire to do what is right and to walk in His love.
And when you do stumble, don’t lose heart. God’s Spirit will gently draw you back and remind you that you belong to Him. He will keep shaping you to walk in His righteousness day by day. ~ Jeff M Newman

The One Who Practices Righteousness Is Righteous
Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous. (1 John 3:7)
