Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous. (1 John 3:7)
In context, John is warning believers against those who are trying to deceive them. These false teachers were claiming that a person could live in sin and still have fellowship with God. But this verse teaches the opposite. When someone is truly righteous, they will practice righteousness. Their faith will be evident through righteous actions that flow from the Holy Spirit living within them as born-again believers. ~ Jeff M Newman
