Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:31-32)
Take a hard look at your life. Do you have any bitterness? Are you angry and lash out at people? Are you slandering people? Do you desire to do evil against people?
God is asking that you get rid of these things. It’s almost as if these are physical things in your life that you need to put in the trash dumpster to be removed. If it helps, make a list of these areas, then crumple them up and throw the sheet of paper away.
Then, replace this by being kind and tenderhearted to others. How do we do this? We do this by remembering how Christ has forgiven us. Christ went to the cross to pay for our sins. He died for your bitterness, rage, anger, slander, malice, and insults against people.

Lesson 23 - The Commandments of Jesus - Part 1
Welcome back to the Hope Bible School verse-by-verse Bible study of 1 John. This is Jeff M Newman. Get a new lesson every other week on Monday at 12:00 PM Eastern. In Lesson 22 we learned about the importance of keeping Jesus’ commandments. Let’s read the verse.
Meditate On The Word Day And Night
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. (Psalm 1:1-3)
I’ve never heard of the Berean study Bible. Is there any particular reason why you like using it? Thanks!
