And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But remain in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)
In context, Jesus was telling the disciples to wait in the city until they received the power from on high. This was something promised to them by the Father.
He is speaking about the Holy Spirit.
We read in Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Just as He gave the disciples the power from on high, God wants to give you this same power to obey Him and be a witness.
Stop and ask God right now to clothe you with power from on high. ~ Jeff M Newman

You Are Not Of The World
If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first. If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. (John 15:18-19) Jesus wants you to understand that following Him can lead to opposition and persecution.
