And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But remain in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)
In context, Jesus is speaking to His disciples after He had been crucified and risen from the dead. He was speaking specifically speaking about the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, which is recorded Acts 2.
The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live a life that honors God and fulfills His purpose. Just as Jesus encouraged the believers to wait in the city, we are also encouraged to wait on the Lord through prayer and seek His presence.
Ask Him to clothe you with power from on high so you can glorify Him in all that you do. ~ Jeff M Newman
