1 John 1:5–7 And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
This passage teaches that God is light. That means there is no sin or deception in Him. He is perfectly pure. If someone says they have fellowship with Him, yet their life is characterized by a pattern of sin, they are not telling the truth and are not living according to it.
It is impossible to have true fellowship with God while continuing to walk in darkness or hiding sin instead of bringing it into the light.
But when someone walks in the light, living openly before God in repentance and faith, they have fellowship with other believers, and the blood of Jesus continually cleanses them from all sin.
If you are struggling with sin, confess it to God and turn to Him. As you walk in the light, He is faithful to cleanse you and transform your life.~ Jeff M Newman

John 17:1-3 When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You. 2 For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him. 3 Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.
