He Reveals the Deep and Hidden Things
Daniel 2:22

He reveals the deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him. (Daniel 2:22)
In context, this took place during the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. The king was deeply troubled by a dream that none of his wise men could recount or interpret. Because no one could explain the dream, the king threatened to execute all the wise men of Babylon.
Daniel responded by seeking God in prayer. God then revealed both the dream and its interpretation to Daniel in a night vision. In response, Daniel worshiped God and praised Him for revealing deep and hidden things.
This shows us that there are realities and truths that are inaccessible to human wisdom apart from divine revelation. Daniel also declares that light dwells with God, meaning that God Himself is the source of truth, wisdom, and understanding. As 1 John 1:5 says, “God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.”
God is omniscient. He knows everything, including the past, present, and future. You may feel as though you are walking in darkness because you do not understand why God is allowing certain things or where He is leading you. But God always knows what lies ahead. There is no need to panic. You can trust Him to guide you.
Psalm 119:105 reminds us, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” As you spend time reading Scripture and praying, God will provide the light you need for each step. He will illuminate your path, because light dwells with Him. ~ Jeff M Newman
