He Was Oppressed and Afflicted, Yet He Did Not Open His Mouth

Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth.
This is a prophecy about the coming Messiah. In Isaiah 53, we learn about the Suffering Servant who would suffer and die for the sins of others. This prophecy points to Jesus Christ.
We see that the Suffering Servant would be oppressed and afflicted. We see this fulfilled in Jesus, who willingly went to the cross like a lamb being led to the slaughter. Jesus was falsely accused and treated unjustly, yet He did not retaliate. He willingly gave Himself over to suffer and die according to God’s plan.
Remember Jesus when people hurt you or treat you unfairly. Jesus knows what it is like to suffer unjustly. Follow His example. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the strength to persevere when the way people treat you is painful. Instead of retaliating, entrust yourself to God and allow Him to produce patience, self-control, and love in you. God will give you the strength you need as you look to Him and abide in Christ. ~ Jeff M Newman
