I, the Lord, Do Not Change
Malachi 3:6

Malachi 3:6 “Because I, the LORD, do not change, you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed.
In context, Malachi was speaking to the Israelites after they returned from exile in Babylon. Even though God had faithfully restored them to their land, the people had become spiritually complacent. Through Malachi, God reminded them that He does not change.
This reveals one of God’s attributes, His unchanging nature. God never changes in His character, His purposes, or His promises. He is always faithful.
This truth can be difficult for us to grasp because we are constantly changing, and the world around us is always changing. Yet God remains the same. We see this same truth in Jesus Christ. Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Because God never changes, His promises are certain and His love is steadfast. You can trust Him completely. Take time today to meditate on God’s unchanging nature and thank Him that He is always faithful. ~ Jeff M Newman
