I Will Be a Father to You
2 Corinthians 6:18

And: “I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:18)
Paul is drawing from 2 Samuel 7:14, where God promised to be a Father to the king in David’s line. This promise is ultimately fulfilled in Christ. Because believers are united to Christ, we now share in the relationship God has as Father to His people. This shows that God welcomes all who are in Christ into His family as His sons and daughters.~ Jeff M Newman
