I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and to carefully observe My ordinances. (Ezekiel 36:26–27)
In context, Ezekiel was speaking to Israel after they had been conquered and exiled to Babylon. This came as the result of centuries of rebellion and idolatry. Yet even in their exile, God spoke words of restoration and renewal. This prophecy finds its fulfillment today in Christ. When someone puts their faith in Him, God gives them a new, tender heart in place of a hardened, prideful one. He also gives believers the Holy Spirit, who guides and empowers them to live in obedience to His Word. Look to God, He will transform your life and give you the strength to walk in His ways. ~ Jeff
