Ephesians 5:6-7 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.
In this verse, Paul the Apostle is warning believers not to be deceived by people who use empty words and false teaching. These are teachings that minimize sin, excuse sinful living, or deny God’s coming judgment.
As you listen to teaching, ask yourself whether it is encouraging you to pursue righteousness and follow Jesus Christ, or whether it is leading you toward sin and compromise. Spend time listening to people who encourage you to seek God, obey His Word, and walk in holiness. Do not follow voices that encourage sinful living or distort the truth of Scripture.
What you continually listen to and fill your mind with will shape the way you think and live. This is why believers are called to renew their minds with the truth of God’s Word. Be careful what you consume spiritually. Spend time listening to sound teaching about Christ, growing in His truth, and learning how to abide in Him daily. ~ Jeff M Newman
