Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for to this you were called as members of one body. And be thankful (Colossians 3:15)
There is a battle going on for control of your heart. Anger, lust, fear, envy, pride, hatred, covetousness, and other destructive sins are constantly trying to take over your life. But you can choose a different path—let Christ’s peace rule in your heart today.
How do you do this? Spend time meditating on Bible verses throughout the day. Speak them out loud, whisper them, sing them to yourself, and pray them back to the Lord. Let His Word fill your thoughts.
If you’re holding on to bitterness toward another believer, forgive them. We are called to be one body, united in peace.
And finally, be thankful—intentionally, abundantly, and joyfully. Go over the top in giving thanks to the Lord today.
Do these things, and you’ll begin to see Christ’s peace take its rightful place in your heart. ~ Jeff M Newman
