My People Do Not Understand
Isaiah 1:3

The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master’s manger, but Israel does not know; My people do not understand. (Isaiah 1:3)
In context, God is speaking to the Israelites. They had been chosen, blessed, protected, and provided for, yet they were living in a state of rebellion. They did not recognize or acknowledge their own God, and they had forgotten who He was to them.
They did not lack information about God, they lacked a personal relationship with Him. In this verse, God says that even oxen and donkeys show more faithfulness because they recognize and respond to the one who provides for them, while His own people do not understand.
The question this raises for us is simple, do you know God only intellectually, or do you truly have a personal relationship with Him? That relationship begins by believing in God’s love demonstrated through the death of His Son on the cross for your sins, and it grows as you spend time with Him each day through prayer and studying His Word. ~ Jeff M Newman
